Maggie the Mini Dachshund February 19, 2007
Posted by in : Unusual animals , add a comment
Maggie’s mom says: Maggie has been the light of our family for the last eight weeks — a great addition to Abby, our 12-year-old collie. Our ten-year-old son saw a couple of miniature dachshunds last Halloween and, falling in love with them, wanted to know everything he could about the breed. We decided to pursue this and by Christmas we were totally hooked. That’s when sweet Maggie came home. She has been snuggly, smart, and playful. In addition, she has been easy to train and very intelligent. She loves chewing and fetching her toys and has been very happy playing in the snow. Our children (and friends) have been very engaged with her and have been having fun entertaining her. Bottom line — she is a joy!

Maximus the Welsh Corgi February 18, 2007
Posted by in : Unusual animals , add a comment
Maximus’s mom says: Maximus is our little dog with a big name. Max, as we like to call him, loves to socialize with people, children, and other dogs. He is about ten weeks old now and rarely barks. Even when other dogs howl and bark, Max takes it all in stride. He does whine a lot but we often find his whining too cute! His temperament is very even keeled and laid back for the most part. This little furball has been a big bundle of joy for us. Both my fiance and I are engineers and typically spend a lot of time in front of a computer at work and, unfortunately, at home as well. But ever since Max came into our lives, we have spent much more of our free time playing with him outdoors in the backyard, walking him around the block, and training him. We feel so much healthier as a result. We can’t wait until his ears stand up because it will be oh so cute. Typically when this occurs, only one ear will stand up, then the other a short while later. When this happens, as fun and cute as this will be, we will be a tad sad that this part of his puppyhood will be over.

Augustine the Yorkie/Bichon February 17, 2007
Posted by in : Unusual animals , add a comment
Augustine’s mom says: Augustine just might be the best puppy. Everyone who meets her thinks so! She is a happy, playful, and well behaved girl who is always up for more than a little fun. Her favourite activities are playing with her toys, going for long walks, and wrestling with her puppy friends. Don’t let her cute looks fool you. She’s a fierce tomboy who can hold her own in a pack of boys! If you want to be on her good side, she is easily bribed with treats. Augustine thinks that people merely exist to fawn all over her, which doesn’t seem too far from the truth!
